french toast

Last night, the husband and I went to a halloween party. We dressed as Fred and Wilma Flintstone. The costumes ROCKED.

I drank a bottle alot of red wine. And 2 martinis.

My head hurts today. Alot.

After 2 hours on the couch snuggling the cats, an extra strength advil liquigel and a large cup of coffee, I decided we needed to be fed.

Everyone knows the best hangover food is full of carbs and fat so french toast and a side of bacon it was.

Hangover french toast

2/3 cup milk
3 eggs
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
4 slices bread

Combine milk, eggs and cinnamon in a shallow glass dish. Whisk until combined.
Place 2 pieces of bread into egg mixture, let soak for 1-2 minutes each side.  Bread should be completely wet and will easily break when lifted.
Place soaked bread pieces into a medium non-stick pan at medium low heat.
Cook each side until golden brown and has a nice crust.
Repeat with remaining pieces of bread.

Top with lots of butter and syrup. Also delicious with jam and / or cinnamon sugar.
